Forty Weeks

Max is getting so fast! He's crawling so fast from room to room, chasing us around and sitting himself up with a proud face when he finds us. He will catch me and then sit at my feet, looking up until I acknowledge him (which never takes web a second). I play like he's surprising me, and he thinks it is hilarious!!

He's getting into the pointing phase. The finger has been up his nose for a couple of weeks, but now he's using it to press things. He will hit things with just his pointer finger, or push things. Just his finger, not his whole hand. Pretty soon he will be pointing at things across the room to tell us what he wants!

I went to grab him at daycare yesterday, and found him crawling across the room with a big toy in his mouth. He looked like a little puppy dog! He had found that this is the best way to transport his toys, smart boy!

Cruising along the furniture and walking with his walker is so fun to him. He's going up and down, up and down. He loves the thigh workouts! Just watching him makes my legs throb.

The poor little guy was sick again today. I brought him to the doctor to find out that he has another ear infection. Poor thing. It looks like we will be staying home together tomorrow, due to his fever. The poor little guy won't be feeling well, but we will have a good day full of cuddles and kisses!

Thirty Nine Weeks

There has been lots of practicing with standing and sitting this week. He's getting more and more confident each day. He's even scooting along the furniture!

He got his walker Tuesday night, and he had to inspect it carefully:

He (obviously, because what baby wouldn't?) loved it and started walking behind it. I can't believe that he started walking behind it the first night he had it! He has one complaint... Daddy keeps slowing him down!!

He's really enjoying spending time with me while I clean up. Dishes, laundry, etc. So I let him "help" me do these things, and he has a blast laughing and looking up at me for praise. It makes chores a lot more fun!! Of course, he is unfolding my piles of laundry as he "helps" me. It is adorable, and he's so proud! Oh, and he loves playing the with the laundry basket once it is empty!!

We tried a new activity this weekend... Bubbles!!! He had a blast trying to catch them and pop them. As you can tell from his smile, he thought it was hilarious. It didn't take him long to figure out that the bubbles were coming from the plastic container in my hand, so we had to stop. He was so mad that I wouldn't give him the bottle! Next time I will try to see if he will take the wand and help me blow them, before he gets focused n the bottle. Wish me luck!!

Thirty Eight Weeks

Max read my mind Friday, and started doing things that I had just posted about him doing soon. I laughed when it happened, both times.

First, he started crawling into other rooms. He is trying to get into the bathroom, uh oh! He likes to sit on the floor and hit the door to the bathroom and the basement (right across from the bathroom). I think he likes the noise of hitting the door, as it's hollow and different. I'm sure he wants to get through the door too though! Here's a shot of him sitting in front of the bathroom door.

He of course started pulling himself up to standing also! I posted about this Friday, with several pictures to show the process. He was having a great time, and he is so proud when he stands up. He stands there, just hanging out, for a few minutes. Then he gets bored and wants to crawl around, but he doesn't know how to get down. So... Guess what? I saw him sit down from standing on Sunday night! That was fast! So now it's up and down, up and down. He's loving it. It's so fun to watch.

He's still enjoying his food! To keep him entertained, I put some Cheerios in a pill bottle for him to use as a rattle. I found that most rattles have so many nooks and crannies that it's tough to clean them. With this, I just give it a quick wash (VERY easy) after his meals. He has a blast throwing it around and making noise, and of course biting it. It's his new favorite toy.

Here's the happy boy playing with all of his toys! He love pulling the toys out of their totes, and bringing them all over the play area. It's more fun for him that way, than if the toys are just out and about. He really seems to enjoy pulling them out and discovering them all over again.

Story time!!! I took this picture after we finished reading Wednesday night. This is our reading material each night, and several of them are read a couple of times. I'm so happy that he loves reading so much! His current favorite is Snuggle Puppy, by Sandra Boynton (on top of the pile in this picture). He loves the singing parts, and he bends over and looks up at me every single time I sing the chorus. It's definitely the best moment of my day.

We had some fun play time this morning in the big bed. He woke up at 6am, so we were playing around and taking pictures. He still LOVES the camera! Here are a couple of my favorite shots.

I'm already excited to see what next week will bring! He's changing so much every week, it's hard to keep up!

Standing Up: A Baby's Thought Process

Max pulled himself up to standing for the first time today. Here is how I imagined his thought process.

I think I can do this! Arrrggggh!!!

Oh my God!!! I stood up! All by myself!!

Holy crap! That was awesome!

Mom, did you see that? Please tell me you got a picture!

So this is what the table looks like from up here. Hmm. Interesting.

My shirt is so yummy!

Man, that took a lot out of me! Time for a nap!
